2005 Rusack Pinot Noir Estate

Fruit-scented candle wax and petrol dominate the nose, but there is also some black olive, bacon, ripe plum and tar components. The acidity is still pretty strong in this wine, and on the palate some raspberry jam, blackberry, and rare beef come through, with some asian spice and maybe some green banana peel. Body is quite silky, but the finish doesn't maintain that same silkiness, although it is quite nice also. I get plum, kiwi, oak, and raisins on the finish, and it lasts maybe 20 seconds.
